FORT MYERS, Fla. — People are ready to hit some golf balls and have fun this weekend at the new Topgolf in Fort Myers. For months, we’ve seen the tall netting sitting along Colonial and I-75. Work is complete, and people packed the driving bays Friday.
A few college students say a new attraction like this was needed in our area.
“It gets boring out here sometimes so it’s nice to have something to do,” Florida Gulf Coast University student Houston Buehler said. “The beach is fun sometimes, but it’s nice to come out here for a few hours and have some fun.
They have what they’re calling the largest screen in Fort Myers inside the building. You can sit at the bar to eat and drink and watch some sports.
More than 400 workers were hired to help run the facility. They have 72 bays where up to six people can order food, drinks, and hit some golf balls.
Topgolf officials say they haven’t been asked to tweak their lights that shine bright at night. They said they have the ability to, but local authorities said they are good to go.
Here are their normal hours:
Friday & Saturday: 9am- midnight
Sunday – Thursday: 9am – 11pm
